The Samaritan Counseling Center began providing services in January of 1996. The new Center was created by the merger of the Counseling and Pastoral Care Center of Austin, founded in 1975 by Reverend William Denham, and the Samaritan Counseling Center of the Capital Region, founded in 1982 by the Reverend Charles Mendenhall.
The Center affirms the value of personal faith as a resource in meeting life's challenges. The Center's staff is sensitive to spiritual issues, but we are not a sectarian agency and serve everyone regardless of religious affiliation.
