Career Counseling services address life and career issues including choosing a career path, changing careers, surviving and thriving after a layoff, work/life balance, understanding an managing job stress, retirement issues, and discerning a spiritual call.

HOPE for HEROES is a program to serve military personnel and their families who have unmet mental health needs due to service in Iraq and Afghanistan. Individual, group, and family counseling provided to address a wide variety of issues including post traumatic stress, anger management, substance abuse and addiction, relationship discord, family violence, depression, and anxiety. Workshops provided to educate the community on the unique problems of soldiers and their families..

The Center staff members are people of faith who believe in the importance of a divine power in the healing process, but they do not espouse a particular faith or religious perspective to clients. Each counselor is licensed or certified as a Licensed Professional Counselor, a Licensed Master Social Worker, a Certified Pastoral Counsel, a Clinical Psychologist or a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist. The Center also employs post-graduate counselors who are working toward a licensure or certifications.

The Samaritan Counseling Center has been serving the greater Austin community for more than 30 years and in its present form since 1996. The Center is governed by an active Board of Trustees reflecting the business, religious, health, educational, legal and civic sectors of central Texas. Volunteer opportunities include board leadership, office assistance and fundraising assistance.
